- Per a post on X, Custer will pilot the team’s new No. 0 in five NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races this season. He joins Garrett Smithley and Alex Labbé (who will drive the car at road courses) in sharing driving duties of the No. 0 in 2026.
- Custer is taking these duties in the newly named OAP Series onto a full-time Cup Series schedule with the Haas Factory team in 2025. Throughout his career, including two separate multi-season stents as a full-time driver, Custer has made 176 starts in the OAP Series and was the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion.
- Custer did not race in the series last season, likely due in part to the lack of spots with Ford teams in the series. But, with new rules allowing full-time Cup Series drivers to compete in the OAP Series more often, and HFT’s shift back to Chevrolet, Custer likely saw a chance to get more seat time.
- SS-Greenlight has raced in the NASCAR OAP Series since 2014 and has scored one win. That win came in 2022 at Auto Club Speedway, with Custer, then racing full-time in the Cup Series with Stewart-Haas Racing, behind the wheel.
