What’s Happening?
Cleetus McFarland will race in this weekend’s ARCA Menards Series race alongside his friend and fellow content creator Squirrel McNutt, following a new decision by ARCA officials, the YouTuber confirmed during the first episode of his new podcast.
This weekend marks another major turning point in the NASCAR career of YouTuber Garrett Mitchell.
Mitchell, who is better known by his alias Cleetus McFarland, is set to make his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut with Richard Childress Racing at Rockingham Speedway.
This race on the challenging one-mile oval will determine whether or not NASCAR will allow Mitchell to race in the upcoming NASCAR OAP Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 25.
Should NASCAR determine Mitchell is ready to race at Talladega, he will pull double duty that weekend, also racing in the ARCA Menards Series that same morning.
This scenario would mark the third time Mitchell has raced twice during a NASCAR weekend, as, following his ARCA outing and Truck Series debut at Daytona in February, the 30-year-old is racing in the ARCA Menards Series East race at The Rock this weekend.
Alongside Mitchell in his pursuit of Talladega is frequent Cleetus McFarland YouTube Channel collaborator George Siciliano, who goes by the nickname Squirrel McNutt.
For this approval, ARCA required the 33-year-old to race this past weekend in the ARCA Menards Series East race at Hickory Motor Speedway, then the upcoming race at Kansas Speedway on April 18.
"My first race. That's for The Biff right there, man."

Unfortunately, despite completing 193 of the race’s 200 laps en route to a 13th-place finish, Siciliano’s plans have seemingly hit a snag.
During the first episode of the Bald Eagles podcast, Mitchell says that, prior to this past weekend’s race at Hickory, ARCA ruled that his friend must race at Rockingham this weekend as well.
“They [ARCA] said, ‘We’ve talked internally. . . George needs to race a mile track too,'” Michell said. “They said if he wants to raise Talladega, he’s got to race Rockingham to and then Kansas.”
While they are seemingly still holding out hope that Siciliano does not need to enter this weekend’s race, given the short time frame, Mitchell said that they will make it happen if need be, as he doesn’t want their dream of racing together at Talladega to pass them by.
Siciliano’s schedule at the Rock, should he race this weekend, is much easier than that of Mitchell, as the 125-lap ARCA Menards Series East race starts at 11:30 AM ET, and is quickly followed by the 250-lap NASCAR OAP Series race at 2:30 PM ET.
