What’s Happening?
George Siciliano, also known for his appearances on the Cleetus McFarland YouTube Channel as Squirrel McNutt alongside Garrett Mitchell, will officially make his ARCA Menards Series East debut this month at Hickory Motor Speedway.
Siciliano, whom many of Mitchell’s fans refer to as Squirrel, previously announced his intentions to make his ARCA debut in a January video on the Cleetus McFarland YouTube Channel. Monday, on his Instagram, Siciliano shared a first look at the car he will drive in his series debut.
For those unfamiliar with the ARCA Menards Series East, the division is one below the main ARCA Menards Series, and focuses on East Coast tracks throughout its eight-race schedule.
Typically, these eight races will include a few combined events with the main ARCA Series, though Hickory’s season opener is not one of these events.
The goal of this outing for Siciliano is to get approval from NASCAR to race with McFarland in the ARCA Menards Series races at Kansas Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway.
While this race will mark his first foray into NASCAR racing, this is far from his first venture in racing, having competed in amateur Crown Vic and drag racing.
For his series debut, Siciliano is sporting a tribute to late NASCAR legend Greg Biffle. Biffle, a racing mentor and friend of Garrett Mitchell (better known as Cleetus McFarland), was also a recurring guest on the YouTube channel over the past year alongside Siciliano.
The green flag for the ARCA Menards Series East season opener at Hickory Motor Speedway is scheduled to drop on Saturday, March 28, at 7:30 PM ET. The race will broadcast live on the FloRacing streaming service.
