What’s Happening?
Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell is entered for this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway despite injury concerns following a hard crash at Michigan International Speedway.

Bell, who currently sits 10th in points, was racing at the front of the pack Sunday afternoon with Chase Elliott when Elliott got into the No. 20 and sent him into the wall.

Though Bell got out of his race car with haste, he declined to speak with the media after the crash.
Shortly after the crash, Bell’s owner Joe Gibbs told the media that the 31-year-old was dealing with injuries to his wrist and ankle. This left fans wondering whether or not Bell would be able to race this weekend at Pocono.
While Bell is on the preliminary entry list for this week’s race, it does not guarantee he will race at Pocono. During his press conference, Gibbs added that the team was “just gonna have to wait” to see what Bell’s condition is.
Since his full-time promotion to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021, Bell has not missed a race for injury or any personal matters. The last JGR driver to miss a race was Denny Hamlin for the birth of his son early last season.
