Tune in at 5 PM ET on FS1 to watch Buescher return to a track he knows all too well – this time in a different… pic.twitter.com/U7ZVOGQIti
- Although Watkins Glen may seem like an odd choice for the 32-year-old driver to make his Truck Series debut, Buescher finds himself in an odd spot with just three races until the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. RFK Racing’s No. 17 team currently sits just inside the playoff window despite a solid season, and a win would lock the team in.
- Last season, Buescher, who failed to make the playoffs, won at the Glen (a playoff race in 2024), overcoming a dominant Shane van Gisbergen in Kaulig Racing’s No. 16. With the extra track time this weekend, perhaps Buescher can find his groove and go back-to-back at the Glen to lock himself into the playoffs.
- The six-time Cup Series winner will be the fourth driver to drive the No. 66 truck in 2025. He joins Johnny Sauter, Luke Fenhaus, Luke Baldwin, and Cam Waters with driving duties for the team this season. So far, the truck’s best finish came at Michigan, a third-place finish with Fenhaus behind the wheel.Â
- At press time, entry lists are not out for the Truck Series return to the Glen the weekend, though Buescher will likely not be the only Cup Series veteran in the field. With driver Stewart Friesen injured during a dirt race last week, Christopher Bell is expected to drive the Halmar Friesen Racing No. 52 this weekend.
