What’s Happening?

On Thursday, NASCAR officially announced one of its biggest race dates for the 2025 season. Phoenix Raceway will once again host Championship weekend for all three National Touring Series from October 31st through November 2nd, 2025.

  • This will be the 6th year in a row that Championship Weekend will be held at Phoenix Raceway. NASCAR moved the weekend from Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2020. However, multiple reports indicate that Homestead-Miami Speedway is pushing to get the date back for the 2026 season.
  • The event moved back to its traditional slot, the first weekend of November. In 2024, the weekend was pushed back one week to accommodate the Olympic break. This likely means NASCAR could return to just one Cup Series off-weekend in 2025.
  • Fans are generally unhappy about this change. Phoenix is not a popular track with the fans, and many were hoping to see another track take over as the Championship race.
