What’s Happening?
Andres Perez de Lara, the 2024 ARCA Menards Series Champion, will make the jump to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2025. Perez de Lara will drive for Spire Motorsports in the No. 77 truck.
- In 2025, Perez de Lara, a native of Mexico City, Mexico, won the ARCA Menards Series title by 41 points over REV Racing teammate Lavar Scott. Perez de Lara, despite no wins, walked away with ten top-fives, 17 top-tens, and two poles in 20 races.
- He also made his Truck Series debut last season with Spire. In his debut, Perez de Lara finished ninth at World Wide Technology Raceway. Initially, most expected Perez de Lara to jump to REV’s No. 2 truck in 2025 to replace a promoted Nick Sanchez.
- However, with Chase Purdy’s departure from Spire’s No. 77 and a reported end to REV and Spire’s relationship, rumors shifted to his future being with Spire.
Perez de Lara will team with returning Hendrick Motorsports prospect Rajah Caruth at Spire in 2025. Alongside Caruth’s No. 71, Spire will also field a part-time truck, the No. 7, in 2025, much like it did last season. Rumors also suggest that the team will field another part-time truck, the No. 07.
Caruth’s 2024 Crew Chief, Chad Walter, is on top of the pit box for Perez de Lara. Walter is a multi-time winner in the Xfinity Series.
