What’s Happening?

Beard Motorsports announced on Wednesday that Anthony Alfredo would drive for the team in two races in 2024, including the 2024 Daytona 500. This will be Alfredo’s second attempt at the Daytona 500. He finished 32nd after crashing out early in the 2021 race.

You Need to Know:

• Beard Motorsports has competed part-time in the Cup Series since 2017. They have entered a handful of races every year since then, including every Daytona 500. They failed to qualify in 2023 with Austin Hill, but, they did finish 7th in the 2020 race with Brendan Gaughan behind the wheel.
• Alfredo also made two Cup Series starts in 2023 with Live Fast Motorsports at Richmond and Martinsville in the spring. His best career Cup Series finish is 10th at Talladega in 2021. He will also compete full-time in the Xfinity Series in 2024 with Our Motorsports in the 5 car.
• Some fans are excited to see Alfredo join the grid at Daytona and Talladega in 2024. However, others are upset that Austin Hill is not getting another opportunity with Beard Motorsports.
