What’s Happening?
As expected, Anthony Alfredo and Beard Motorsports will join forces for the Daytona 500 once again in 2025. Alfredo made three starts with the team last season, all at Superspeedways.
- Alfredo and Beard will be the fifth confirmed open team in the Daytona 500. They join NY Racing and JJ Yeley, MBM Motorsports and Mike Wallace, B.J. McLeod and B.J. McLeod Motorsports, and Hélio Castroneves and Trackhouse Racing as open entries.
- Last year, Alfredo and Beard struggled in their three starts together. They had one lead lap finish, and their best finish, and only top ten, was at the Spring Talladega race. However, Beard had another top-ten with Parker Retzlaff at Daytona in August.
- Beard has a long history as an open car at Superspeedways. In fact, of their 30 Cup Series entries, only two have been at a track that’s not Daytona or Talladega. Furthermore, the team has entered seven of the last seven Daytona 500s and qualified six times, missing once in 2021 with Noah Gragson.
- Alfredo remains unsigned for 2025 as Kris Wright takes over his previous full-time ride in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Our Motorsports. While it seems likely he will get a ride, as he is well sponsored, time is ticking for Alfredo as the season approaches.
- Beard was a rumored entry for the race. Other legitimate rumored entries include Rick Ware Racing and Legacy Motor Club. There are others, but these seem most likely.
