What’s Happening?

On Tuesday morning, Amazon announced a Dale Earnhardt Documentary to be released on Prime Video. Executive producers include Academy Award Winning director, Ron Howard, NASCAR Studios’ Tim Clark, and others. NASCAR Studios will produce the documentary alongside Imagine Documentaries, Everyone Else, and “in association with” Dirty Mo Media. Dale Earnhardt Jr. later unveiled that this documentary will be 4 parts, and simply titled “Earnhardt”.

  • According to the release, the documentary centers around the Earnhardt family and the racing career of Dale Earnhardt Sr. Amazon highlights “Unparallelled access” and “Never before seen archival material” in this documentary.
  • This is the second documentary Amazon and NASCAR will collaborate on. A NASCAR-produced documentary on Garage 56 was announced in June of 2023, but, the release date for that is still unknown. Amazon is joining forces with NASCAR in 2025 to broadcast 5 races exclusively on Prime Video, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. coming on board.
  • Fans are very excited about this documentary, especially with the addition of Ron Howard. Howard is one of the most respected filmmakers in Hollywood, and fans have high expectations as a result.
