What’s Happening?

Wedding bells are ringing in the NASCAR garage. On Tuesday, Daniel Suarez married Julia Piquet in Piquet’s hometown of Brasília, Brazil, and a few familiar faces joined in the festivities. Here is a glimpse into the ceremony.

• Daniel Suarez and Julia Piquet have been together for five years. They began dating in 2019 before getting engaged in 2022.
• Piquet comes from a prestigious racing family with her father, Nelson Piquet, a three-time Formula One World Champion, and brother, Nelson Piquet Jr., a three-time NASCAR (two Trucks and one Xfinity) winner and 2014-15 Formula E Champion. Julia’s sister, Kelly, is dating three times defending Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen.
• Suarez intends to stay in Brazil for a few more days to compete in the NASCAR Brazil Series at Interlagos on August 3rd-4th as the Cup Series is still on the Olympic break. It will be his first start in the series.

The Happy Couple

Daniel Suarez first started the wedding festivities with this picture of his family.

Then, it was off to the welcome part for those who joined the ceremony.

Finally, Suarez showcased the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. It’s unclear what was served, but a spaghetti emoji was used with lots of racing memorabilia in the background.

The Guests

Sirius XM NASCAR Radio personality Danielle Trotta joined the couple in Brazil. Here is one picture taken with the bride and a couple of others during the welcome party.

Trotta also posted this picture of the wedding with a couple of interesting NASCAR faces. One is her husband, Robby Benton, a longtime NASCAR team executive. On the far right, NASCAR President Steve Phelps appeared at the wedding. Phelps was also present when Suarez took the oath to become a U.S. citizen.
