What’s Happening?

A.J. Allmendinger will return to Kaulig Racing in the Cup Series for 2024 for at least one race, the Daytona 500. He will drive the 16 car, which was the second chartered Kaulig Racing car one year ago. It seems Kaulig may be running an “All-Star Car” for their 16 team in 2024.

You Need to Know:

  • Allmendinger will attempt his 11th Daytona 500 in 2024. His best finish is third, which came in 2009 for Richard Petty Motorsports and 2017 for JTG Daugherty Racing.
  • Allmendinger is already racing full-time in the Xfinity Series in 2024 with Kaulig Racing. If the 16-car remains the chartered entry Allemdinger’s 2024 Cup Series plans may be as a part of the 16-car.
  • Some fans are not thrilled with this move. They prefer that Allmendinger would run full-time instead of part-time in 2024.
