What’s Happening?

It’s another double header weekend for the NASCAR National Series as the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Cup Series head to Pocono Raceway. So, whether you are going to be at the track or home, what does the forecast look like for the race weekend in Long Pond, Pennsylvania?

  • Pocono Raceway is one of America’s most unique and historic race tracks. The 2.5-mile oval has three unique turns, all based on iconic race tracks, with turn one after the now-demolished Trenton Speedway, turn two after Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and turn three after the Milwaukee Mile.
  • Pocono first joined the NASCAR Cup Series schedule in 1971, and added a second race date in 1982, which lasted until 2021. In 2016, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series made its long-awaited debut at the track with a solo race date that has lasted ever since.
  • While Pocono has a mixed history of bad weather, last season saw the track’s most recent significant delay when rain held off the start of the race for two and a half hours.
