What’s Happening?

Kaulig Racing and Ram Trucks have announced that their fourth entry for the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will be an open entry for top drivers “across the motorsports world.”

Rumors of a supposed “All-Star Truck” fielded by Kaulig and RAM have circulated since the announcement of their partnership at Daytona in August. But, in reality, it seems that this truck could be a mix of well-known names and underdog free agents.

Although most teams refer to entries like this as an All-Star Truck (e.g., Spire Motorsports), Kaulig and Ram are calling it the “Free Agent Driver Program,” and are targeting drivers who are not necessarily known for their efforts in oval racing.

Per the press release from Kaulig, the team will announce the driver of the free agent truck, the No. 25, prior to each week’s race, and, specifically, the team will target drivers “from different racing disciplines to compete throughout the season.”

Ram and Kaulig are encouraging interested drivers to reach out via email to motorsports@ramtrucks.com.

As of presstime, Kaulig is set to field five full-time injuries in the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Those drivers already announced included Daniel Dye, Brendan ‘Butterbean’ Queen, and Justin Haley.

Notably, the Free Agent Driver Program’s press release notes that these three drivers will pilot Ram’s full-time entries, suggesting that the fifth entry could be for the rumored winner or winners of a yet-to-be-confirmed, but heavily rumored, reality TV show.

As for the drivers of this All-Star truck, Kaulig and Ram will likely need to find drivers currently unaffiliated with other manufacturers within NASCAR.

Recent rumors suggest that big names, such as NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart, who currently races for the Stellantis brand Dodge in the NHRA Top Fuel division, or even former Dodge driver Kasey Kahne, could be options for this All-Star truck.

In a recent interview, Kaulig CEO Chris Rice confirmed that the company has had discussions about Stewart and Kahne. However, he noted that no action has been taken beyond these conversations regarding the two drivers.
