What’s Happening?

Thanks to a post from 23XI Racing on Monday afternoon, NASCAR fans have yet another new look at NASCAR ’25, including one of Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace’s in-game paint schemes. However, fans have noticed that a key sponsor is missing from the No. 45 team.

23XI Racing shared pictures and clips of their drivers trying out NASCAR ’25, iRacing’s upcoming NASCAR Console game, on both X and Instagram Monday evening. Notably, these pictures included a glimpse of the NASCAR Cup Series driver selection menu and Bubba Wallace racing at Iowa Speedway.

Fans got a glimpse of the Truck Series driver menu last week when iRacing released the fifth episode of their Dev Diary series, though, this is the first look at the Cup Series menu.

These new pictures also showed off Wallace’s Columbia and Reddick’s Jordan Brand paint schemes from Homestead, but, to the shock of fans, many noticed that an important sponsor is missing.

Reddick’s primary sponsor, Monster Energy and its brand The Beast Unleashed, originally appeared on the rear quarter panel of No. 45 at Homestead but is not featured on the No. 45 in these photos.

Monster, which sponsors not only Reddick but also his 23XI teammate Riley Herbst and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Ty Gibbs, is known for not being featured on NASCAR die-cast, and its potential omission from NASCAR ’25 is not entirely unexpected.

The energy drink brand, which sponsors all forms of motorsports worldwide, has been featured in NASCAR console games as recent as 2021’s NASCAR 21: Ignition, the last multi-platform NASCAR Console game released in 2021.

Monster appeared in the game’s original release, featuring the 2021 Cup Series roster, with its logo on the hood of Kurt Busch’s No. 1 car. But when that game released its NASCAR Next Gen car DLC, the brand was removed as an associate sponsor of Busch’s paint schemes, and no primary Monster paint schemes were present in-game.

NASCAR ’25, which will be released on Oct. 14 for consoles, is far from complete. Most in-game screenshots and clips still feature a work-in-progress logo, meaning some things, even as small as associate sponsorships, could change. Nonetheless, if Monster opts out of the game, fans will likely have a hard time looking past their absence, especially due to the monstrous portion of blank space the brand will leave on cars.
