What’s Happening?
iRacing released the first footage of in-race gameplay and in game screens for its upcoming console game, NASCAR ’25, Thursday afternoon in the fifth episode of their Dev Diary series.
Though it was not an official gameplay trailer, the fifth episode of the NASCAR ’25 Dev Diary series, released on Thursday, gave fans a quick glimpse of in-race gameplay for the first multi-platform NASCAR Console game released since 2021.
This episode focused on driver reactions to playing an early version of the game in recent weeks. Posts from RFK Racing, iRacing, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. teased that these drivers had tested the game, and this video gauged those drivers’ reactions.
The drivers featured in the video are:
- ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski
- JR Motorsports’ Sammy Smith
- Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell
- Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron
- Rev Racing’s Eloy Falcon, Lavar Scott, and Lanie Buice
- Young’s Motorsports’ Anthony Alfredo
- Spire Motorsports’ Rajah Caruth
Each of these drivers gave raving reviews about different aspects of the game, from physics to track design and even realism. Of course, comments of this nature are to be expected in such a video.
Most importantly, in the background of the B-roll showing these drivers testing the game, there is actual footage of cars on track, alongside other notable first looks.
While fans have seen some work in progress looks at the game’s in-race HUD and main menu, this video gave fans a quick first glimpse at the ARCA Menards Series and Craftsman Truck Series driver selection menus, track selection menu, and the game’s Race Weekend hub.

Another major note from this video comes at the end, when Production Director Matt Lewis confirmed that iRacing will release an official gameplay trailer and open pre-orders “about a month before” the game’s Xbox Series X/S and PS5 Oct. 14 release date.
