What’s Happening?
Wednesday, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that users with Standard and Premium subscriptions will be able to access live sports on B/R Sports, including NASCAR. So, how does this apply to NASCAR on MAX in 2025?
What Does This Mean?
Initially, WBD planned for B/R Sports to be available for Max subscribers as an add-on for a $10 monthly fee. However, WBD announced yesterday that their users with Standard and Premium Subscriptions will continue to have access to B/R Sports and the NASCAR content included with it for no added cost.
MAX currently has three subscription tiers, all of which also have option to pay annually at a lowered overall price:
- Basic with Ads – $9.99 a month
- Standard – $16.99 a month
- Premium – $20.99 a month
Notably, the cheapest tier, Basic with Ads, is left out of this new plan for B/R Sports access. MAX announced that users on the Basic with Ads tier will lose access to B/R Sports on March 30. This means fans attempting to use MAX to watch NASCAR on B/R Sports with the Basic tier will have to upgrade to the $16.99 Standard ($169.99 a year) or $20.99 Premium ($209.99 a year) tier.

What Will Basic Tier Users Miss Out On?
When MAX makes the switch on March 30, the day of the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville, fans with traditional methods of watching, such as a Live TV Streaming Service or Cable should be okay, however, those using the Basic tier will not be able to access driver cams and in-car audio.
However, the real difference is made during the summer Atlanta Race when TNT Sports takes over coverage of NASCAR for five race. Those on the Basic tier will not be able to watch the five TNT Sports races simulcast on TNT and MAX. This includes the five-race in-season tournament.
