What’s Happening?

The release of the NASCAR National Series schedule on Thursday created the online uproar that many expected. Fans, media, race teams, drivers, and a few tracks all declared their approval and bewilderment of the new schedules.

  • The 2025 schedule may be the most dramatic shift in recent history. NASCAR has added fan favorites like Rockingham and Bowman Gray Stadium back to the schedule. While also having the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series head to Mexico City.
  • The schedule has been the topic of many conversations, including the distance traveled, its diversity, and the overall dramatic changes made. Another key piece for stakeholders has been the schedule’s history, with Rockingham and Bowman Gray being blasts from the past.

Media and Personalities

Longtime ESPN reporter and former NASCAR personality Ryan McGee reminded fans to use their voice and buy a ticket. McGee is a native of Rockingham and frequently talks about the town and track in interviews; the track is like family to him, and he wants fans to remind everyone that NASCAR’s roots matter.

SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s Dave Moody always has an opinion or a take on the sport’s happenings. This time, rather than in-depth commentary, Moody took the route of comedy, as his broadcast schedule for next year just got a bit longer.

Driver and NBC Sports insider Parker Kligerman spoke about one of the most beloved additions to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Schedule: the 1.5-mile road course Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. For Kligerman, a part owner of the track, this addition means the world.

Jared Haas of Frontstretch reminded everyone that Lime Rock Park has some interesting history.

Content Creators

BrakeHard went right to the stat book when thinking of Rockingham. Hoping that someone could get Fox Sports’ Jamie McMurray a ride for next year, as Jaime, a four-time winner in the Xfinity Series at Rockingham, will have Saturdays off next year.

The Scene Vault guys reminded everyone that NASCAR’s efforts to return home in the past few seasons are part of a larger story that the past and the future of NASCAR can and will work together.

nascarman, as always, threw a little bit of history our way. The track in Mexico City is named for a legend of Mexican auto racing who even ran a few Cup races back in the sport’s golden era.

Dale Tanhardt reveled in the thought that Dale Earnhardt Jr., an expert at Talladega and Phoenix, would have some solid odds in the revamped Playoff Schedule.

Chase Holden, like many fans, was sad that, as rumored, Chicagoland will not return to the NASCAR Schedule. However, he is hopeful that Kansas Speedway’s sister track will return one day.

nascarcasm, as always, made light of the difficult travel schedule teams at all levels will face in the coming season.

Drivers & Teams

Kyle Busch seems excited at the prospect of a revitalized schedule.

Chase Briscoe comedically views it as a work schedule drop rather than the day that many fans look forward to every season.

Ryan Truex has yet to have a full-time ride despite winning two Xfinity Series races this season and three total since last year. He likes to remind everyone that he, too, would like to race at all the new tracks, not just some of them.

Kyle Weatherman, a Missouri Native, is excited at the prospect of racing near home when the Xfinity Series returns to WWT Raceway for the first time since 2010.

Jeb Burton is excited about Rockingham, as he won one of his seven pole positions at the track in the 2013 Truck Series season.

Young Rajah Caruth reminded everyone that while the schedule is fun, the lack of a race in Southern California is a very significant issue that needs addressing soon.

Tracks, Networks, and Teams

Spire Motorsports had the pleasure of using their No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro as part of the schedule release in a video that NASCAR did in a style some universities use when announcing their schedules.

Some would have a problem with NASCAR smashing a good drink. However, a track having a problem with it was not what some expected.

JR Motorsports sounded the alarm and reminded everyone that next year, the future of the Xfinity Series will be bright on The CW.

The CW is the new home for the Xfinity Seris in 2025. They are as excited as anyone about the future of the sport.
