The NASCAR Cup Series may be new to Iowa Speedway, but NASCAR’s lower series are no stranger to the track. Some current Cup Series drivers have had incredible success at Iowa, winning one or multiple races at the venue in these series. These are the drivers to watch for at Iowa Speedway.

  • For this list, we will look at the Xfinity and Truck Series resumes of the current Cup Series drivers at Iowa Speedway. Some had great success here, which could translate this weekend.
  • Iowa hosted the Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series between once and twice yearly from 2009 through 2019. It was a popular standalone venue throughout the summer stretch.
  • Fans are excited to see the Cup Series at Iowa. They are watching the drivers who have experience at the track closely.

Brad Keselowski (Xfinity ONLY)

Brad Keselowski took home the inaugural Xfinity Series race at Iowa in 2009, and he pulled into victory lane two times after that, once in 2013 and again in 2014. He also participated in the Goodyear tire test at Iowa back in May, meaning he should be a threat to win this weekend.

Christopher Bell (Xfinity and Trucks)

Christopher Bell dominated the Xfinity Series at Iowa in 2019, the last two races at the venue. He led a combined 418 of 500 laps over those races, qualifying on the front row both times, and winning the June race at the venue. He also snatched a win at the track in 2018, giving him two wins in four starts at the track. Bell was also a part of the Goodyear tire test in May.

Erik Jones (Xfinity and Trucks)

Erik Jones is the first driver on this list to capture a win in both the Xfinity and Truck Series. He won twice in the Truck Series for Kyle Busch Motorsports with one coming in 2014 and another in 2015. He took home another win in the Truck Series at the track in 2016, passing Ty Dillon in the closing laps.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Xfinity Only)

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was at the center of the most iconic moment at Iowa, the finish of 2011 when Edwards piledrove him over the line. What people often forget is that this was hs second of three consecutive wins at the venue. He was the first driver to get a strong grip on Iowa Speedway.

Ryan Blaney (Xfinity and Trucks)

Ryan Blaney also won in both the Truck and Xfinity Series. He won his first career Truck Series race at the track over Ty Dillon in 2012, driving for Brad Keselowski Racing. He followed that up three years later with a dominant Xfinity Series win leading 252 laps. He was never passed for the lead in his Xfinity Series triumph at the track.
