NASCAR Silly Season still is not done yet as plenty of solid drivers still find themselves out of a ride for 2024. What are the best NASCAR Free Agents remaining for the 2024 season?
Most Likely Destination: Joe Gibbs Racing?
Sheldon Creed being a free agent came as a surprise to many yesterday, but RCR announced that they would be parting ways with Creed for 2024. The most logical place for Creed to end up in 2024 would be Joe Gibbs Racing as it would be the most obvious upgrade in the current series. However, maybe Rick Ware Racing’s second Cup Series car could be an option to give Justin Haley a full-time teammate for 2024.
Most Likely Destination: Stewart-Haas Racing?
Ever since Noah Gragson was reinstated, many have tried to connect him with multiple different rides including Kaulig Racing, JR Motorsports, and many others. However, the most recent reports have him as a candidate for the 10-car at Stewart-Haas Racing. This is far from a slam dunk, however, as Gragson would need to put together significant funding for the car, and, how much funding can he realistically bring?
Most Likely Destination: Kaulig Racing (Cup or Xfinity)?
With the signing of Carson Hocevar, Spire Motorsports officially parted ways with Ty Dillon for 2024, and understandably so. Something just was not clicking in that team all year, and it has put Dillon 33rd in points. As far as 2024 plans, Kaulig Racing has been rumored as the most likely destination for Dillon, and it could be seen as an upgrade for Dillon. If that does not work out, then it is hard to see where Dillon finds his place for the 2024 season.
Most Likely Destination: ?
Brett Moffitt was absent from Hailie Deegan’s press conference announcing she was joining AM Racing in 2024. That could mean nothing, but the fact that there were no plans announced surrounding Brett Moffitt and the 25-car show that Moffitt might be looking elsewhere for 2024. It’s understandable because Moffitt has not been in race-winning equipment since he was in the Truck Series, and he might be looking for something new. The where, however, is a major question mark.
Most Likely Destination: Jordan Anderson Racing
With Sheldon Creed gone from RCR, many have immediately linked Parker Retzlaff to Richard Childress Racing. However, we have been told that it seems he will be returning with Jordan Anderson Racing in 2024. The 20-year-old has been solid in his first year with the team despite not winning a race. On top of that, he has good funding from Funkaway, and that should keep him around for at least next year.
Most Likely Destination: Jordan Anderson Racing
Jeb Burton is in a similar position to Parker Retzlaff for 2024, but, again, we have been told that he should be returning to Jordan Anderson Racing for 2024. Again, why not? Burton gave the team their first win in all of NASCAR. A Playoff spot and the ability to win races means Burton could stay around for the foreseeable future.
Most Likely Destination: ThorSport?
Grant Enfinger remains without a ride for 2024, and time is beginning to tick for him. With GMS Racing shutting down, he needs to find something new, and the most competitive ride left in the Truck Series is the 13 truck with ThorSport. However, do not count out the Rackley W.A.R. 25 truck either, since that team won their first race last year along with making the Playoffs for the first time in their history this year.
Most Likely Destination: Alpha Prime?
With GMS Racing shutting down in 2024, Rajah Caruth is out of a ride, and he seems to be a potential candidate for almost any lower series ride that is available. However, the ride that he has the closest relationship with is Tommy Joe Martins and Alpha Prime Racing. That does not mean Caruth is guaranteed a ride for 2024, but it is the most logical place for him to go. Then again, pretty much any open Xfinity Series seat could have Caruth’s name on it.

Matt DiBenedetto is out on his own again after he was ousted by Rackley W.A.R. with three races remaining in the season. Talk about a tough way to go out, but, his plans for 2024 are a bit murkier. No reports have connected DiBenedetto to anyone, and he joined Silly Season so late that some rides may already be taken up. Maybe there is a place for him somewhere, but, it’s tough to find as of now.
Most Likely Destination: ?
Frankie Muniz has made it no secret he wants to move up in 2024. He raced in ARCA this year, and he had moderate success. Any Ford outfit is a place Muniz could go in 2024 given how Ford has helped support his ARCA endeavors this year, but the specific place is yet to be determined.
Where will all of these drivers land in 2024? There are a lot of rides open, but are there enough seats for everyone on this list?
