23XI President Steve Lauletta tells SiriusXM that the team expects to expand in the future.

What’s Happening?

Steve Lauletta, president of 23XI, tells SiriusXM that expansion is “definitely part of what the plans for 23XI [is] – to continue to grow and continue to bring great partners into this sport.” He says “it may not be 2024, may be 2025 or beyond,” depending on when the team could put all of the pieces together – charter being the key piece of the puzzle.

What You Need to Know:

  • In an interview with Dave Moody, the president of 23XI did not mince words when he said the team intends to expand through charters in the future.
  • Lauletta said it would have to be the right timing with the right driver available as well as being able to acquire a third (or more) charter.
  • With 23XI bringing sponsor after sponsor to the 23 and the 45, the team believes in the revenue they are producing enough to expand their efforts.

In the Stands

Fans weren’t really surprised at Lauletta’s revelation. Their comments on Reddit echoed a belief in the Michael Jordan owned team.

Some took that comment to forecast a potentially bleak future for JGR.

JGR has many years left at the pinnacle of the sport, but the approach that Trackhouse and 23XI has taken to their growth is undeniable. The teams have a belief in the future of NASCAR.

Justin responded on Twitter with intrigue.
