What’s Happening?
Some NASCAR rumors turn out to be true, and some don’t even come close. Here are some false rumors from the 2024 NASCAR Silly Season that you may have forgotten about.
Justin Haley to the Wood Brothers?
Rumor Mill: Justin Haley To The Wood Brothers
What’s Happening? One of the most intriguing drivers of NASCAR Silly Season is Justin Haley, given his impressive season with…
As the early 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season rolled on, two things were clear: Harrison Burton would not return to the Wood Brothers’ No. 21, and Justin Haley was proving everyone wrong in Rick Ware Racing’s No. 51.
This rumor popped up in mid-June, gaining some legitimate traction and getting attention from the guys on Dirty Mo Media’s Door Bumper Clear. Of course, this rumor was not true. Not only did the Wood Brothers miss out on Haley, but the Ford camp as a whole missed out on the young driver, with Justin racing for Spire Motorsports and Chevrolet next season.
SHR and FRM Teaming Up?
Are Stewart-Haas Racing and Front Row Motorsports Teaming Up?
What’s Happening? Thanks to a recent report by Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports, many NASCAR fans are thinking of the…
Stewart-Haas Racing’s closure started a rumor mill of its own throughout the 2024 season, with stories of charter sales and driver moves flurrying deep into November. One of those rumors suggested that Stewart-Haas Racing and Front Row Motorsports could form a technical alliance in 2025.
This rumor falls into the category of one that the fans pushed forward rather than the insiders. The conversation sparked from a report from Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports and slowly turned into fans suggesting that SHR and FRM might team up in 2025. This rumor, of course, is not true as SHR is attempting to get rid of three of its charters, and what little remains of SGR will transform into the Haas Factory Team in 2025.
Noah Gragson to RCR?

What’s Happening? In the wake of Stewart-Haas Racing closing down, rumors immediately began to surface about Noah Gragson’s, future. One…
One of the driver rumors stemming from the announcement of SHR’s closure was that Noah Gragson could find his way back to Chevrolet. Gragson had an abrupt exit from the Chevrolet camp following 2023 but landed on his feet in SHR’s No. 10 for 2024.
After piecing together good runs throughout the early part of the season, some fans theorized that Gragson, with his ties to Bass Pro Shop/Cabela’s, could head to Richard Childress Racing for 2025. The initial rumor, from mid-June, came from Jordan Bianchi of the Athletic, and ultimately, it was not true, as Gragson is headed to FRM to replace Michael McDowell in 2025.
However, Bianchi’s rumor never clearly stated that Gragson would head to the team. Rather, it said that the RCR camp had an interest in the young driver.
Hailie Deegan to the Haas Factory Team?
Haas Factory Team Interested in Hailie Deegan
What’s Happening? Despite an early and ugly ending to her first full-time Xfinity Series season, Hailie Deegan is drawing interest from…
Hailie Deegan’s abrupt exit from SHR associate team AM Racing turned heads. The young, popular driver was once again a free agent after a rough start to her freshman Xfinity Series season. As rumors of her future grew, other rumors surrounded Gene Haas’ HFT and who their potential drivers could be.
One rumor confirmed by team President Joe Custer stated that HFT had an interest in Hailie Deegan driving for their Xfinity Series outfit in 2025. While Custer confirmed that they spoke with Deegan, HFT ultimately went with Sam Mayer and Sheldon Creed for 2025, with Deegan opting for the open-wheel developmental series IndyNXT.
Kaulig Racing Selling Charters?
Chris Rice DENIES Kaulig Merger Rumors: “We’re Going to be Here a Long Time.”
What’s Happening? Kaulig Racing Team President Chris Rice joined Sirius XM NASCAR Radio on Thursday, and he addressed recent rumors…
Kaulig Racing had one of the most interesting rebuilding years in NASCAR history. This rebuilding year started with the team shaking off rumors that they would sell off their charters or even merge with Trackhouse Racing before 2025.
This rumor started in early May and quickly made its way to the top of the rumor mill. The only real evidence was the team’s growing relationship with Trackhouse. However, team president Chris Rice adamantly denied this rumor on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on May 16.
Rather than closing down, Kaulig doubled down by investing in the team, and it’s a long-term future. They made major hires for their developmental ranks and around the shop ahead of 2025.
