23XI Racing announced two special Star Wars paint schemes for Phoenix this weekend, with some pretty awesome unveils. Bubba Wallace even had his reveal feature Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hammil. The schemes look cool, but will Lionel be releasing diecasts of the cars?

What Lionel Had to Say

Lionel responded to fans asking whether or not these schemes would be on a diecast in the future. Lionel said that the approval has not been given, at least not yet.

It does not seem to close the door totally on these schemes being featured on a Lionel die-cast in the future. However, it seems unlikely that it will happen. Star Wars is a major entity, and the licensing needed for it to be on something like a Lionel diecast is more complicated than a normal Cup Series car.

It’s unfortunate for many fans, but, there will be no Star Wars diecasts. At least they will not for right now.
