What’s Happening?
One of the NASCAR Cup Series calendar’s staples is Richmond Raceway and camping in Richmond is a good time, just like at any other NASCAR Cup Series track. Here is everything to expect from NASCAR’s official camping notebook.
- Richmond Raceway has been on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule since 1953. Originally a half-mile dirt track, it was reconfigured to its current 0.75-mile, D-shaped configuration.
- Richmond hosts two NASCAR Cup Series races per year. In 2024, the first race was held in late March and the second in early August.
- Fans love camping at Richmond Raceway. It’s a historic venue, and the track has something for everyone.
Amenities & Highlights
Fans who camp in Richmond can expect some of the typical camping amenities.
Select locations offer hookups with water, power, and sewer. Campground sizes range from 24×16.5 to 25×60, with a mix of paved and grass lots.
Pets are permitted at the campgrounds in addition to a rolling campground concert. Ice is available for purchase.

Campground Details
When camping in Richmond, fans can expect less of an overnight party atmosphere than other tracks. Every campground has “Quiet time” from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Fans also need to purchase two grandstand tickets per site, with the exception of Turn 3. Campers can move in as early as Tuesday of race week.
