What’s Happening?

Circuit of the Americas has become one of NASCAR’s prominent road courses, featuring many at-the-track activities and camping opportunities. Here is everything to expect from NASCAR’s official camping notebook.

  • Circuit of the Americas opened in 2012 and is just outside Austin, Texas. COTA features racing of different disciplines every year. These series include NASCAR, Formula One, World Endurance Championship, and Moto GP. The track’s most used layout is 3.426 miles long and features winding and sharp turns alongside a long sweeping backstretch, giving the track a unique shape.
  • NASCAR first ventured to Circuit of the Americas in 2021 as the second road course race on the NASCAR calendar that year. Since then, it has taken over the year’s first spot, and the action sets the tone for road course racing for the rest of the season. The race weekend features the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Recently, it has become a tradition for drivers worldwide to make one-off NASCAR starts at the circuit.

Amenities & Highlights

Circuit of the Americas features many amenities for those race fans tackling the NASCAR weekend at the track.

Like other facilities, the campgrounds feature Wi-Fi. However, campers can also access cable TV. The campgrounds are also pet-friendly and have a dog park, convenient for campers and their pets who may be in an RV or camper for long periods of time.

If you forget anything, a general store is available for campers to remove the need to leave the track. Alongside this, campers have the ability to do laundry while at the track should the need arise.

Entertainment is a high priority at the track, including access to the fan zone and a gated pool during the summertime to beat the South Texas heat. Circuit of the Americas also features an observation tower that provides a great view of the track and the Austin skyline.
