It’s time for the second NASCAR Superspeedway race weekend of the season as the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Cup Series head to Talladega Superspeedway. So, whether you are going to be at the track or home, what does the forecast look like for the race weekend in Talladega, Alabama?

• Talladega Superspeedway is one of NASCAR’s largest tracks, sitting at 2.66 miles long and 48 feet wide. This makes the track perfect for classic door-to-door superspeedway racing, which, at times, can even get up to four-wide.
• The NASCAR Cup Series has raced at Talladega since its opening in 1969, and has hosted two races a year at the venue since 1970. In 1992, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series made its debut at Talladega, adding a second date of its own this decade.
• Talladega has had hit-or-miss weather in recent years. The biggest problem with the track when it comes to weather is the lighting, as the track does not have lights like its counterpart in Daytona Beach. This means NASCAR has had to push back races to account for the potential of nightfall.
