This weekend, NASCAR’s Cup Series will tackle North Wilkesboro Speedway as a points race for the first time in 30 years. So, whether you are going to be at the track or home, what does the forecast look like for the race weekend in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina?

• As one of NASCAR’s original tracks, North Wilkesboro Speedway is a piece of living history that many fans felt would never host a Cup Series race, let alone a points-paying race, again. Thanks to efforts to revive the track in the early 2020s, North Wilkesboro is back in shape and set to host its fourth race weekend since its revival.
• From 1949 to 1996, North Wilkesboro Speedway was a mainstay of the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, hosting one to two races a season. For the Truck Series, the track was an early part of its schedule, hosting the series in 1995 and 1996, before the trucks became the track’s first NASCAR points race in over 25 years in 2023.
• For the most part, North Wilkesboro Speedway has had good luck with weather since its return, that is, except the 2024 Truck Series race, which was finished a day after it started following flash floods in the area.
