What’s Happening?
All three NASCAR National Series are headed to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend for an action-packed triple-header weekend. Whether you are at the track or home, what does the forecast look like for this weekend in Lebanon, Tennessee?
- Nashville Superspeedway is relatively new to the NASCAR Cup Series despite opening in 2001. The unique 1.330-mile oval is by no means a true superspeedway and looks like any other on the schedule.
- Nashville Superspeedway hosted the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series from 2001 to 2011 before welcoming all three NASCAR National Series in 2021. During Nashville’s decade on the schedule prior to its current tenure, it hosted two Xfinity Series dates a year from 2002 to 2011 and two Truck Series dates a year in 2010 and 2011.
- Since joining the schedule in 2021, Nashville has often felt like the start of the summer stretch for all three NASCAR National Series. With that, summer showers have affected the race weekend in some way almost every year.

2024 – Another Weather Delay
In 2024, the third NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway saw an 81-minute weather delay push the start of the race. This was the second time, the first happening in 2022, that this had happened, and the third year in a row the weather had affected the race weekend in some way.
After this delay, fans saw Joey Logano score his first win of the season, riding a lucky fuel strategy home to the win. Little did fans know at the time that he would turn this one win into a playoff birth, three more playoff wins, and a Cup Series Championship.
