What’s Happening?
NASCAR heads to its second intermediate race of the season this weekend with the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Cup Series racing at Kansas Speedway. So, whether you are going to be at the track or home, what does the forecast look like for the race weekend in Kansas City, Kansas?
- Kansas Speedway is one of the newest tracks on the NASCAR calendar, though it is now 25 years old. Since its opening in 2001, the 1.5-mile track has gone from a not-so-popular stop to one of the most well-known on the circuit, thanks to the incredible racing product of the NASCAR Next Gen Car.
- In its many years on the NASCAR schedule, Kansas has seen all three NASCAR National Series take to its banks. Both the NASCAR OAP and Cup Series have raced at the track annually since the 2001 season, with the Cup Series hosting two dates a year since 2011.
