Veteran short track racer Robbie Brewer has passed away following a crash related to a medical emergency during a Sportsman race at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday night.

- According to a report from Rob Blount of FloRacing, Brewer suffered a heart attack, leading to a hard crash into the turn four wall at Bowman Gray. Following the crash in the Sportsman division race, Brewer had to be cut out of his car and then transported to a medical facility shortly after.
- In a release, track officials at Bowman Gray Stadium said, “Robbie was a talented and passionate racer, and highly respected competitor among his peers. Our thoughts and prayers are with Robbie’s family and friends at this time.”
- Brewer was a veteran racer at Bowman Gray, making over 300 starts across multiple divisions at the quarter-mile oval. He was also well known across the short track scene and a champion in the 602 Modified Tour and the 602 Super Limited Series.
- His passing has been met with an outpouring of support for his loved ones by the racing community, including competitors and fans.
