What’s Happening?
With the 2026 NASCAR Chase quickly approaching, more and more NASCAR tracks are announcing their race dates on the sport’s 2027 schedule, and Circuit of the Americas and Texas Motor Speedway are just the latest to join in.

- Per announcements from both tracks, they will continue to host their two weekends as they did in both 2025 and 2026. They will also maintain their race weekends, though unlike COTA, Texas will not shift back a week due to the 2027 Daytona 500 schedule.
- COTA will host both the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Cup Series in 2027 as the third race of each series season. Just like this season, that March 6 and 7 race weekend will take place while the Truck Series races in St. Petersburg.
- But north of Austin, the trucks will continue their long-standing race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on April 30, followed by the OAP Series on May 1, and the Cup Series on May 2. Most rumors suggested that TMS would maintain this weekend, as its 2025 shift saw a large boost in attendance.
