Trucks UPDATE: NASCAR Postpones Charlotte Truck Race

What’s Happening?

It’s a wet a dreary day in Concord, North Carolina at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. In addition to a somber garage area following the shocking and tragic passing of Kyle Busch yesterday afternoon, Mother Nature has also decided to rain on our parade as a steady rain has settled in the area. Truckers fired engines and pulled out onto the racing surface before the rain picked up and they were forced to drive back down onto pit lane. Drivers were told to get out of their trucks as they settled into a lengthy rain delay.

FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the radar. In the post below, we can see a massive cell of rain moving through the area. As Pockrass noted, for the race to be official, they would need to make it to Lap 60, or the end of Stage 2. As time wore on and the rain didn’t ease, and there was seemingly no window of time where it would be clear enough to dry the track and get 60 laps in, NASCAR made the decision to postpone the truck race to Saturday morning. The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will now start at 8 AM, ET on FS1.

UPDATE

Rain continued into this morning, once again causing NASCAR to postpone the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The race is now scheduled to start on 9 PM ET with coverage still on FS1. Here is NASCAR’s official statement:
