What’s Happening?
Following a series of late race cautions to shuffle up the front of the field, Connor Zilisch led the field to the green for the NASCAR Overtime attempt. When the race went green, Zilisch hesitated on the restart, allowing for Kaden Honeycutt to get the jump. By the second turn, Honeycutt cleared Zilisch for the race lead as the No. 71 fell back into the clutches of his road course rival, Shane van Gisbergen in the No. 4.
Zilisch was able to clear SVG and set his sights on Honeycutt who was scooting away to victory. In the end, there weren’t enough laps left and Zilisch never made it to the back bumper of the 11. This meant that Kaden Honeycutt went on to score his first career Truck Series victory today at the historic Watkins Glen Speedway. It has been a day to remember for Honeycutt as he also won his first ARCA Menards Series race at the track earlier in the day, making for a clean Friday sweep.

Post-Race Report
- The opening stage fired smoothly and there were no cautions throughout the duration of Stage 1. A usual suspect in Connor Zilisch showed to be one of the favorites early on. He along with several of the other leaders pitted late in the stage in order to flip it. This handed the race lead over to Christian Eckes, who went on to win the stage.
- Stage 2 belonged to Connor Zilisch. Zilisch proved once again that he is the NASCAR King of the Road as he went on to lead nearly every lap of the stage en route to a stage victory. However, since Zilisch is running full-time in the Cup Series, he was ineligible to collect Truck Series stage points. Because he chose to stay out and some of the other leaders pitted, this put him deep in traffic. He knew that he’d have to drive through the field yet again if he wanted to stay in contention to win.
- The following drivers earned stage points in today’s race: Layne Riggs (15), Daniel Hemric (10), Andres Perez (10), Rio Ruggiero (9), Tyler Ankrum (9), Chandler Smith (8), Grant Enfinger (4), Tanner Gray (3), Ty Reif (2), Connor Mosack (1), and Brent Crews (1).
- Kaden Honeycutt scores his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory at Watkins Glen today. It makes for a clean sweep as he also won the ARCA Menards Series race earlier today.
