What’s Happening?

Ty Norris, the President of Trackhouse Racing, is leaving Trackhouse before the season is even over. However, he is not leaving NASCAR as Kaulig Racing appears to be his likely landing spot in the future.

  • Ty Norris is a NASCAR lifer. Starting his career at Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, Norris was a major part of DEI’s on- and off-track success in the early 2000s. After he left DEI, Norris’ next notable spot in NASCAR was at Michael Waltrip Racing, where Norris was a part of the infamous “Spin Gate” scandal in 2013.
  • Norris has been a part of Trackhouse since its early days of development. In his time at Trackhouse, the team went from a lease charter single-car entry to buying Chip Gannasi’s NASCAR team at the end of 2021. The two-car team now has sponsorship from Anheuser-Busch and Coca-Cola and is looking to expand to three full-time cars in 2025.
  • With Norris’ departure, it is unclear who will take over his role at Trackhouse. Furthermore, Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, who broke this story, says Norris is headed to Kaulig Racing. However, it is unlikely he will be in the role of Team President, as Kaulig’s current President is Chris Rice.

This is a developing story.
