What’s Happening?
In yet another expansion of his original one-race NASCAR Cup Series schedule in 2025, Trackhouse Racing is adding two more races to Connor Zilisch’s 2025 NASCAR Cup Series efforts.

Zilisch will return to Cup Series action for the June 28 Quaker State 400 at Echopark Automotive Speedway, formerly known as Atlanta Motor Speedway. He will then get back behind the wheel for what is, at press time, his final scheduled race of 2025 on Aug. 10 for the Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen.
So far this year, the 18-year-old superstar has made two Cup Series starts, making his Cup Series debut at Circuit of the Americas and his Cup Series oval debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In his debut, Zilsich brought home 37th wrecking out and 23rd at Charlotte.
The race in Atlanta will be Zilisch’s first Cup Series race on a superspeedway-style drafting track. However, Zilisch, a road course ace, has competed well at the Glen in the past, dominating and winning last year’s ARCA Menards Series race and his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at the track.
Background
Zilisch, who is widely considered the top prospect in all of NASCAR, is currently competing full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports. Despite one win and an impressive 6.5 average starting spot, Zilisch has had rather bad luck, including a race missed for injury and a lowlight, yet unlucky, 14.5 average finish.
While Zilisch earning more races will come as a pleasant surprise to most, it is more than not for Trackhouse’s Daniel Suarez, who is underperforming in a contract year. Most consider this crossroads, either promoting Zilisch or retaining Suarez from 2026, to be the key story of the 2026 NASCAR Silly Season.
