What’s Happening?
23XI Racing prospect Corey Heim is adding yet another race to his scattered 2026 NASCAR schedule, rejoining Tricon Garage’s No. 5 team for this weekend’s race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

- Heim already has five starts in both the No. 1 and No. 5 trucks for Tricon this season. In those starts, the 2025 Craftsman Truck Series champion has three wins and four top fives, with his only blemish being a crash at Bristol.
- While he is one of the most anticipated Cup Series prospects in years, drawing comparisons to Cup Series rookie Connor Zilisch, Heim has split time between Trucks and Cup this season. On the Cup Series side, Heim has stood out in the No. 67 at 23XI Racing, winning the inaugural race at San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado.
- Earlier this season, 23XI Racing, after nearly a year of anticipation, announced that Heim will take over the No. 35 full-time from current driver Riley Herbst in 2027. While Herbst has yet to announce his plans for 2027, most expect him to land at Legacy Motor Club’s third entry, the No. 84.
- Heim will have stiff competition this weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway, which is hosting its first NASCAR Cup Series points race in 30 years. The field for Saturday’s race includes Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott, Trackhouse Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen, and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell.
