This weekend marks the final race of Prime Video’s 2026 NASCAR Cup Series coverage, opening the door for TNT Sports to take over for its five races, which include coverage of the NASCAR In-Season Challenge.
For the most part, TNT maintains several elements from Prime Video’s coverage, including the entire booth of Adam Alexander, Steve Letarte, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
This season, the network is again shaking things up by adding Legacy Motor Club owner and NASCAR Hall of Famer Jimmie Johnson to its studio coverage.
Per a press release from TNT Sports, Johnson will serve in this role for three races during the network’s five-race stretch, including the races at Sonoma Raceway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Previously, Johnson had taken on a similar role, albeit at the track, for NBC Sports during the 2024 season.
Soon-to-be NASCAR Hall of Famer and NBC Sports Analyst Jeff Burton will take Johnson’s place in the studio for the races at Chicagoland Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Alongside Johnson will be another familiar face, former NASCAR on ESPN reporter Marty Smith. Smith will, however, serve as pre- and post-race host for the full five-race schedule, rather than a part-time schedule.
The list of personalities not returning to TNT Sports coverage in 2026 includes former pre- and post-race show analyst Parker Kligerman and pit reporter Alan Cavanna.
Pit reporters Marty Snider and Danielle Trotta return, with the addition of long-time NASCAR media personality Shannon Spake taking over as the third reporter.
