Calling the opportunity a dream come true, Vargas said he has wanted to become a Monster Jam driver for as long as he can remember and expressed his excitement about finally turning that childhood ambition into reality.
He mentioned, “I’m beyond excited to share that I’ll be driving the brand-new Power Rush Monster Jam truck next season! This is truly a dream come true. Ever since I can remember, I’ve dreamed of becoming a Monster Jam driver, and now that dream is a reality.”
While many NASCAR fans know Vargas for his stock car career, the California native has steadily expanded his racing portfolio over the past several years.
He made his NASCAR debut in 2018 at just 18 years old and has since competed across multiple disciplines, including the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR Euro Series, and NASCAR Canada Series.
As opportunities in NASCAR evolved, Vargas increasingly explored other forms of motorsports, with Monster Jam becoming a big part of his racing journey.
Even in 2026, Vargas remained active in stock car competition.
He made eight starts in the ARCA Menards Series for Maples Motorsports, driving the No. 91 and No. 34 entries. Those outings produced four top-10 finishes, while he finished inside the top 20 in all eight races. Earlier in the season, he briefly found himself in the ARCA championship conversation and recorded his best finishes of eighth place at both Daytona and Talladega.
Nonetheless, Vargas’ transition to full-time Monster Jam is far from a leap into the unknown. He first entered the series in October 2025, making his debut behind the wheel of the iconic El Toro Loco truck at Spokane Arena in Washington.
The debut couldn’t have gone better. Vargas claimed the overall event victory after finishing P2 in the Freestyle Competition, the 2 Wheel Skills Challenge, and JCB Racing, outperforming competitors including Jurassic Attack and Tim Hall Jr.
Since then, Vargas has competed across three Monster Jam weekends, driving El Toro Loco in Spokane and Hampton during 2025 before stepping into the Monster Mutt Dalmatian truck as a substitute for Blake Granger at the Vancouver event in 2026.
