NASCAR’s adventure to the hills of North Carolina may be done, but there’s still time to put a bow on the festivities. Here are the bottom five drivers from each NASCAR National Series race this past weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
Frankie Muniz
It really is starting to feel like we are getting close to having those annoying NASCAR social media post captioned, “remember when Frankie Muniz ran two Truck seasons then dipped.” All we can ask is that he gets at least one race in good equipment.
Luke Baldwin
Speaking of drivers who we all wish would get one race in good equipment, Saturday may not have been a modified race, but Luke Baldwin still managed to find a way to finish behind 48-year-old Ryan Newman.
Nathan Nicholson
One lead lap finish in four starts is some really bad luck, Nathan. But look at it like this, you still haven’t finished last yet.
Kasey Kleyn
That takes us to Kasey Kleyn, who got the pleasure of taking part in the bad luck streak of Rackley WAR’s second truck this year but still managed not to have a first career race last place finish, and that’s something we can all celebrate.
Donovan Strauss
Unlike Kleyn, Donovan Strauss was able to score last place in his series debut; unfortunately, he shared on social media that he was pulled from the car following stage two due to heat-related health concerns, and we hope that he is feeling better.
Austin Hill
Do you think that SVG was happier that he got a top five or that he barely had to see Austin Hill this weekend? Look, that was a fun spat, but if their little rivalry was ever going to come to blows, it would have happened this weekend, and it didn’t.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Look, say what you want, but Ricky is in a very good spot here; this is only his second-worst finish of the season, and for a team that has seen insane levels of speculation about their future by fans over the past two seasons, that’s pretty good.
Chad Finchum
What were we expecting to happen here? Everybody loves the underdog, but they weren’t going to get a top ten, not this weekend. But while we’re here, let’s point out that this was the most laps completed by the No. 66 this season.
Josh Berry
Every week, it’s either Berry or Zilisch on this list, and that’s no fun for anybody. The only thing that could make this stretch of the year more difficult for Josh Berry was if his day ended at the hands of a Penske driver.
A.J. Allmendinger
You all just had to talk your talk about how A.J. had Joey in the standings a couple of weeks ago, now look at the standings, that didn’t take long to flip, did it?
