NASCAR may be done with its tour of the Midwest, but there’s still time to put a bow on the festivities from this past weekend. Here are the bottom five drivers from each NASCAR National Series race this past weekend at Iowa Speedway.
Ryan Sieg
Oh, Ryan, your second DNF of the season, and really couldn’t have come at a worse time, but hey, that first career pole has to mean something, right?
Mason Maggio
This season has been a mixed bag for the No. 92 team since Josh Williams scaled back, and that does not necessarily mean any good has come of it. Still, it’s not like anyone is going to remember Mason Maggio’s part in this rotating door of drivers.
Jesse Love
Here’s the real question: How tuned is Jesse Love right now, and does he have a countdown to joining Wood Brothers on his lock screen?
Corey Day
Does anyone else remember when Corey Day was the “leading candidate” to replace Alex Bowman for 2027? Oh, how the times change. Anyway, that No. 17 team really is going through it as of late, but let’s call it growing pains for now.
Carson Ware
Say what you want about Cody Ware, but the fact that this is his first-ever last-place finish in the OAP Series is, honestly, incredible given some of the teams he has driven for.

This has to be the first time that brothers landed spots on the bottom five? Not saying anything, but they could make another co-appearance this season.
Kyle Larson
Kyle Larson is behind a Spire car in points, and it’s August. Let’s run that again. Kyle Larson is behind a Spire car in points, and it’s August. But at least he has time to run a sprint car, right?
Alex Bowman
Alex Bowman now has the displeasure of knowing that you can’t go four wide at Iowa. Not that it’s his fault, but it’s a raw deal that he came out of that situation worse off than Larson.
Erik Jones
Well, this is (likely) a somber end to one of the better stories of the 2026 season. But Erik (and Jimmie) down cry because your Chase hopes might be over, smile because you had Chase hopes to begin with.
Tyler Reddick
You entered the summer with a 122-point advantage over Denny Hamlin. Now, Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe are closing in on you for fourth in points. This, folks, is a generational bad luck streak.
