Talladega Confirms New Race Date for The 2027 NASCAR Season

Talladega Superspeedway is getting a new race date for 2027 as the schedule shift pushes the track’s fall race weekend into a Halloween tripleheader Chase race weekend.

  • Talladega is, for the most part, maintaining its spots on the calendar. Still, the second of its two official race dates is shifting due to the new start date of the season, as the Daytona 500 has been pushed back a week in 2027.
  • In 2027, Talladega’s Spring Race Weekend will be April 24 and 25, with the ARCA Menards Series joining the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Cup Series. This weekend is the same as 2026, with this year’s Cup race taking place on April 26.
  • However, the fall weekend now shifts to Halloween weekend, with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck, OAP, and Cup Series splitting the weekend. The track is no stranger to racing this late in the season, with the most recent Halloween race at the track being held in 2010.
  • With the reorganization of the then-playoff schedule last season pushing the track’s fall date to be third from last in the schedule, combined with the reshuffling of the 2027 season, it looks like the season will go into mid-November, with a projected date for the season finale on November 14.
