The NASCAR Cup Series returned after an off week with a superspeedway event at Talladega. Despite backlash against fuel-saving racing and the drafting tracks’ aero package, the race gave us a lot to talk about, including controversy, teammates going after each other, and big names crashing out early, but that is not all. Eric likes fuel-saving racing in a pack more than single-file “logging laps” from previous car generations.
The “Gridlocking” makes the racing worse due to a lack of movement throughout the pack.
Eric considers this race a “fine modern superspeedway race,” not terrible, but not good enough.
