What’s Happening?

Daniel Suarez has finally received an extension on his contract with Trackhouse Racing. The two-time Cup Series winner will remain in No. 99 for at least one more season, bringing along a new primary sponsor, Freeway Insurance.

  • Daniel Suarez and Trackhouse have been together since the team’s founding in 2021. During that time, Suarez and the team grew together, with the Mexican-American driver winning his first race at Sonoma in 2022 and winning in a dramatic three-wide finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway this spring.
  • Despite his worldwide fame from the Atlanta win, Suarez has had an up-and-down career. He worked his way through the developmental ranks driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. Suarez won the 2016 Xfinity Series Championship and was suddenly called up to the Cup Series the next season; Suarez saw a fall-off and shuffled around teams before landing at the newly founded Trackhouse Racing in 2021.
  • Since Suarez’s arrival, the team has gone from back-marker to championship contender. Despite his success in 2022, Suarez slowed in 2023. This season, many have wondered if Suarez would return, but the now 32-year-old driver has prevailed, putting together a solid season in a year that Trackhouse has struggled.
