Hendrickcars.com will sponsor five NASCAR National Series entries this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Three of these entries will be in the Truck Series, all with similar paint schemes. Despite all the jokes from fans, Spire has a plan in place to prevent any spotting disaster this weekend.

Tuesday, Spire Motorsports revealed their Truck Series paint schemes for the weekend. Typically, this is not newsworthy; however, for fans of Spire and Hendrick Motorsports, it was a relief to see different-colored roof numbers on their three Hendrickcars.com entries.
Late Monday night, Spire Motorsports posted a photo of their trucks for the weekend with the tagline, “Sorry in advance to our spotters.” This post was no joke, as three of their four trucks carried the Ricky Hendrick-inspired Hendrickcars.com paint scheme, and, in an odd twist, all three had similar colored roof numbers.
Typically, when NASCAR teams run similar paint schemes or sponsors, such as the Monster Energy entries, they can differentiate the cars with small flares of color or shapes. Monday’s post gave many fans the impression that the three Hendrickcars.com trucks would not have any differences.
However, the team usually changes the number color. Last weekend, when Corey Day raced the Hendrickcars No. 7 alongside Rajah Caruth’s Hendrickcars No. 71 at Las Vegas, the team changed the No. 7’s roof number to orange.
However, before this weekend, when the team announced that Kyle Larson would join the two at Homestead-Miami, jokes were already ramping up. Nonetheless, these jokes picked up after Spire’s Monday night post. As usual, the team will change the color of the roof numbers. Larson’s will be a yellowish green, while Day’s will remain orange.
Still, this minor change may not make a spotter’s job easier Friday night.
