- The New Zealand native will drive the No. 71 next Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway ahead of Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600. This race will mark his first in a truck at Charlotte and his first with Spire.
- Of course, that doesn’t mean van Gisbergen is a veteran of the series, as he has only two career starts. Both of those starts came with Niece Motorsports, where SVG most recently piloted the No. 4 at Watkins Glen.
- The road course ace does have oval experience in a truck, finishing 19th in his series debut at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in 2023. Since then, van Gisbergen has made three starts on the Charlotte oval, one in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and two in the Cup Series.
- SVG is the second Trackhouse driver to announce plans to race with Spire this season. He joins teammate Connor Zilisch in driving the part-time No. 71, which also featured former Trackhouse driver Daniel Suarez behind the wheel.
