What’s Happening?
Former NASCAR Race Hub Host Shannon Spake announced her new job away from NASCAR today. Spake, the current co-host of NASCAR Inside the Playoffs and host of NASCAR Daily, is taking her talents to Bally Sports: Hornets as a courtside reporter for the Charlotte Hornets beginning this season.
- Spake has long contributed to NASCAR productions for multiple networks. During her time at NASCAR, she worked with NASCAR on FOX, NASCAR on ESPN and the late SPEED channel. Her resume includes pit reporting, hosting, and co-hosting for Fox’s Race Hub and RaceDay.
- Fox notably canceled the long-running NASCAR Race Hub shortly after the conclusion of its NASCAR Cup Series Coverage this season. This cancellation left many fans wondering about Spake’s future at Fox.
- Spake and Fox cut ties on July 15, with many fans outside of NASCAR upset about the loss of a diversely skilled talent leaving the network. Since her departure from FOX, Spake is the host of two NASCAR productions. She is the host of NASCAR Daily on YouTube and co-host of TNT Sports NASCAR Inside the Playoffs.
- Her move to the NBA, while not NASCAR, does not necessarily mean she is done with NASCAR. Spake remains in the Charlotte area, and her new job has left a gap in her schedule during the NBA offseason.
