What’s Happening?
Falling short of winning the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series finale didn’t just cost Connor Zilisch the series championship, as the 19-year-old has been pulled from the World Endurance Championship’s Bahrain Rookie Test, where he was set to test a hypercar.

- Zillisch was set to test Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA at Bahrain on the ninth. But, due to finishing second in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings, Zilisch does not have the ACCUS License points to test the Hypercar.
- Zilisch did not comment directly on this report; instead, the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year responded with a picture of a crying cat on X.
- This news was shocking, as Zilisch is considered one of the best young racers in NASCAR and the world. Not only did he pace the field in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this year, but the Trackhouse Racing prospect also has a winning record in sports car racing, having won the LMP2 class at the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona.
- Zilisch entered the season finale at Phoenix on Saturday with a statistical advantage over all his opponents. Even though he would end the day with more total season points than his opponents, per NASCAR’s playoff system, his second-place finish to Love resulted in a second-place finish in points.
