Twenty-three days have passed since Kyle Busch died on May 21, 2026, after a severe case of pneumonia progressed into sepsis, yet the ripples from that loss continue to splash through NASCAR and beyond.

Just three days after Kyle Busch’s death, the entire Busch family appeared at Charlotte Motor Speedway as NASCAR paid tribute to the two-time Cup Series champion and pledged its support to the family.
Now, while still navigating life after a loss that turned her and NASCAR’s world upside down, Samantha Busch has taken time to recognize the police officers who stood beside her family during those moments.
One of the three officers, Sheriff Bill Beam, later shared a photograph alongside Samantha and wrote, “Thank you Samantha Busch. Mrs. Busch came by to thank the officers of Denver district for all the assistance and care for her family during their difficult time of losing NASCAR great Kyle Busch.”
Busch died at the age of 41 after suffering complications from bacterial pneumonia.
