What’s Happening?
Samantha Busch, the wife of late NASCAR Champion Kyle Busch, shared a heartfelt thank you to the NASCAR community on her social media Friday morning.
The aftermath of Kyle Busch’s passing from an abrupt illness weighed a heavy toll on the NASCAR community, with fans and industry members sharing their thoughts and feelings on the passing of the NASCAR legend.
Throughout this time, the NASCAR community respected the Busch family’s privacy, with few words from the family since May 21.
Friday, Busch’s wife, Samantha, stepped forward with an emotional post on social media, thanking the NASCAR community for all the support in the wake of Kyle’s passing.
In particular, she noted that the support has helped carry the family through this tough time, saying, “While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you.”
Busch also said that the community and industry as a whole have helped carry the burden, and she closed out her post with a thank you. “Thank you for loving Kyle,” Busch said. “Thank you for honoring him.”
The Busch Family in the Aftermath of Kyle’s Passing
While Samantha’s post was the first direct statement from a specific member of the Busch family, in the immediate aftermath of Busch’s death, the family asked for privacy.
Still, ahead of that weekend’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the entire family, including Samantha, their two kids, Brexton and Lennix, and Kyle’s brother, Kurt, made an emotional appearance as part of a pre-race ceremony.
During this ceremony, the family stood alongside the entire Cup Series garage on pit road at CMS.
This week, Brexton returned to the race track, racing his US Legend Car at Charlotte.

This race was the same day as a private memorial service for Kyle. As of press time, though, some reports indicate a public celebration of life for the two-time Cup Series Champion is in the works.
