What’s Happening?

After months of speculation, RFK Racing announced on Tuesday morning that it will expand to three full-time cars for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. Ryan Preece will drive the No. 60 Ford Mustang, with sponsorship from Kroger, who will jump ship from JTG-Daughtry Racing to RFK. The team will lease a charter from Rick Ware Racing for the No. 60 car. One of the biggest pieces of the 2025 Silly Season puzzle has finally been put in place.

Preece has six years of Cup Series experience under his belt, most recently driving the No. 41 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing. The 34-year-old has struggled in his career due to lackluster situations but will now get the chance with a consistent race-winning organization and a team on the rise. He joins Brad Keselowski, who won last year and has made the Playoffs the last two seasons, and Chris Buescher, who has won five races since the start of the Next-Gen Era and Preece’s former teammate at JTG Daughtry.

Ryan Preece is who we identified from day one when discussing this third entry, and his young talent from the grassroots level all the way up to the Cup Series is something that excites us moving forward.

Kroger will serve as the primary sponsor for all three cars throughout the 2025 season. Kroger is no stranger to the RFK drivers. The supermarket chain sponsored Buescher and Preece during their times at JTG Daughtry Racing, sponsoring Buescher for two years and Preece for three.

RFK has long sought to expand to three cars. Co-owner Brad Keselowski has spoken about his desire to expand the team in the past. With backing from Kroger and a driver finding a new lease on life, RFK continues to rise through the ranks. The No. 60 Mustang was last driven during the Chicago Street Race this season under the Stage 60 Program. Joey Hand drove the car to a Stage 2 win and a fourth-place finish.
